Button Foot with Placement Tool
Use the Button Foot with Placement Tool to quickly and easily attach any size button by machine. This presser foot provides perfect placement with or without a thread shank.
The advantage to using this foot is that it will hold the button firmly and perfectly in place. No more holding it by hand or using tape that can get caught in the threads.
When to use the Button Foot with Placement Tool:
- Any time you want to add buttons to any project or replace buttons that fell off of clothing.
How to attach and begin using the Button Foot:
1.Thread the machine with matching sewing thread on the top and in the bobbin. Snap on the Button Foot.
2. Slide the Retractable Thread Shank Guide in the desired position.
- All the way back will give you no thread shank and will stitch the button closely to the fabric.
- The first position will give you a shorter shank for light weight fabrics.
- The second position (All the way forward) will give you a longer shank for heavier fabrics.
3. Insert the placement tool in the holes of the button. squeeze gently as you place the button all the way back into the slot on the button foot (between the white part and the flat metal spring) .
4. While still holding the button with the placement tool, lower the presser foot onto the fabric. Remove the placement tool by lifting it straight up.
5. Select button sewing on your Sewing Advisor. Adjust the Stitch Width, if necessary, to the width between the holes in the button. Sew on your button following the instructions in your User's Guide for your machine.
Note: Most buttons have the same width between the holes and need no adjusting. Larger or smaller buttons may need adjusting.
6. Continue with steps 3 & 4 for sewing additional buttons.

- Feet with deep grooves along the bottom allows a smooth feeding of fabric and eliminate jamming when stitching medium to heavy decorative stitches or over cording and trims.

* Various Embellishment and Beading Feet
- Feet with thin metal guides in the center or along the edge helps the sewer obtain perfectly straight stitches and uniform seam allowances when sewing two or more layers together. Use these when a specific seam allowance is required and/or when top stitching, or in the ditch stitching must be precise.
- Feet with multiple grooves on the bottom feed perfectly spaced and sized pintucks tailored to certain weights of fabric.

* Pintuck Feet with 3, 5, 7, and 9 grooves
- Feet with special tunnels off to one side to make and insert cording or piping accurately and quickly into all types of projects from a delicate dress up to home deocorator pillows and anything in between.
- Feet that curl or fold fabric over to neatly hem raw edges of most fabric weights. Attach binding easily and stitch it to the front and back in one step. A shell rolled hem makes a small scallop in very lightweight fabrics.
- Feet that feed and attach decorative embellishments such as; cording, trims, ribbons, braids, yarns, threads, etc. to a base fabric or projects. Each has a specially shaped hole or attachment into which the decorative element is applied and depending on the type of decorative element used.
